Derb El Assiri, one of the most photogenic streets, is right beside the hotel, which is in the heart of the Medina. Most places are about a 15-minute walk away, though expect plenty of ups and downs as you walk around the medina. We stayed two nights. The staff were courteous, friendly and helpful; breakfast and dinner were both very good. Give them an hour's notice if you'd like dinner prepared. The rooms were nice and clean, but the bathrooms felt a bit dated and could use a refresh.

My dad tried the hammam and didn't find it especially memorable, particularly compared with the one we experienced the previous night in Fez. I came to the hotel for a massage, though I wasn't staying there. The hotel seemed cozy, and the staff were polite and respectful, but the spa treatment disappointed me. The pressure was so light that it felt like someone was just rubbing oil on me for an hour.

The views were brilliant, and both the staff and spa were AMAZING!!! We loved every minute of our first stay in chafcheuon. Five stars, and we’ll be back, God willing.

The beds were comfortable, and the hotel was nice and clean. The big issue was all the noise from the public areas. Reception, dining and the other shared spaces sit in what used to be a courtyard, so every sound carries straight into the rooms, especially downstairs. I could hear people eating while I showered, and I assume they could hear me too. It was almost comical how far the sound travelled, but it definitely wasn't restful. Service was slow, and the restaurant food lacked inspiration.

The room was freezing, with no heat, and I had to sleep in a coat. The stairs to the rooms were slippery, and my friend actually fell. We checked in Friday at 5 pm and found the riad had no electricity. We were there for 24 hours, and all we heard was, “we are sorry.” At checkout at 10 am the next day, I had to beg for some gesture; they only took $20 off a $180 room. The service was bad. I've been to Morocco at least 20 times, and this was by far my worst experience there. Don't believe what the internet says about this place. I wouldn't recommend it at all.
