Maison D Ha Tes Afassi

The staff shared a thoughtful itinerary for seeing the city's spots, which was really helpful, and the rooftop view was gorgeous. Their kindness and thoughtfulness made this one of our best hotel experiences in Morocco, not just in Chefchaouen. The rooms were very clean, though a bit dated, which makes sense for a riad rather than a five-star hotel. It's conveniently within a 20-minute walk of all the attractions, has free parking and complimentary breakfast, which was delicious. The staff went above and beyond to exceed our expectations. I'd definitely book again and highly recommend it.

The breakfast felt homemade, warm and fresh, and the whole riad was spotless down to the tile grout. After a long drive and a few hours walking around Chefchaouen, we were too tired to go out again, so I messaged Ahmed and he arranged a meal for us. He’d already made our one-night stay at Maison D’hôtes Afassi memorable by meeting us when GPS couldn’t find the place, then putting together an itinerary and restaurant suggestions. We really appreciated his kindness. I can’t think of a downside to our stay, and would happily recommend it.

It’s an easy 5-minute walk from the CTM bus station, and about 15 minutes on foot to the medina. The room was very clean and had the basics we needed: a TV, kettle, fridge and AC. The staff made us feel welcome right away, helped with our bags, showed us the room, and sent a WhatsApp list of photo spots and good restaurants in Chefchaouen. They even packed Moroccan pastries for us when we had to leave early to catch the bus.

Breakfast on the terrace came with a lovely morning view, and getting to the medina was an easy walk. We had a comfortable stay, with friendly, very helpful staff. I’d recommend this place.
