This has a lovely old-school feel, and the staff were welcoming. The location was great, just a few steps from the Medina but outside the centre, so it stayed fairly quiet. The facilities are old, but the hotel's beautiful decoration makes it work well. I had some doubts after reading the reviews, and the map pin was a bit off. A local gallery owner helped me find it. My room could have been cleaner: there was rubbish, dust, and spider webs. Wi-Fi usually worked. The water was confusing, too. It stayed cold for ages, then turned boiling hot and wouldn't cool back down. On the first night I ended up splashing bottled water on myself instead.

I'm glad we kept the booking after reading the reviews. The location is perfect and the place has a lot of charm. It clearly hasn't been renovated in a while, but the towels and sheets were clean, there was hot water, and the toilets flushed. I took off a star for mold on the shower curtain, which is definitely unhealthy, and because the Google Maps pin is wrong. Just look for the shabbiest building.

I planned to stay briefly but ended up spending a week here because it felt so homey. It's an older, historic hotel, right by the Medina and Kasbah gate, close to the ocean and easy to find. The bed was comfortable, and everything was very clean.

The rooms are cold and damp, and there's no heating. The decor is awful, and it takes ten minutes for hot water to reach the shower. In winter, stay somewhere else.

The staff were truly kind and generous, and the hotel's great location made it easy to explore the area. The room, though, was very basic. There were no towels or toiletries, which was disappointing. Better room equipment would make the stay a lot more comfortable.
