Riad Baladin

The rooms are spacious, and the riad is lovely inside. It’s close to both Essaouria beach and the port, which was handy. The staff were great and always willing to help. Breakfast had a small selection, but everything tasted good. They also arranged an earlier breakfast when I asked.

We loved exploring Essaouira on foot from Riad Baladin. It’s right by the old city walls, and the staff were so warm and attentive throughout our stay. The rooftop was a real favorite, with comfortable places to sit, lovely views, and a laid-back feel. We also made good use of the hot tub, a fun surprise. Our room was roomy, cozy, and beautifully decorated. Breakfast on the terrace was excellent, with plenty to choose from and lots of care in how it was presented. We were a little disappointed that they don’t serve Baladin beer, despite the connection in the riad’s branding. They explained that local alcohol laws make it difficult, which is understandable. It didn’t take away from an otherwise wonderful stay.

The warm atmosphere, lovely light, and feeling of being at home made this place feel special. There’s a multi-level rooftop terrace, plus a jacuzzi and a shared area with books and games that came in handy on rainy days. The location is perfect, and breakfast is delicious, though if you stay several nights you might want a little more variety. The staff are so friendly and attentive, making sure nobody is overlooked and offering helpful restaurant and activity recommendations.

I was so comfortable here that I decided to extend my stay. Mara, Felix, and the rest of the team at Riad Baladin were attentive and sorted everything out for me again. When I arrived, even though I’d booked spontaneously and got in late, they welcomed me with tea and pastries and showed me to a lovely, cozy room. I had a wonderful time with you in Essaouira.
