We stayed with a friend in January 2016, and the place felt really warm and welcoming. The owner was so kind from the first moment, and the rooms were beautiful, full of thoughtful details made with care. The terrace was a lovely place for breakfast, with a view of the sea. The location is really good too, in the Medina near the water.

Essaouira is a picturesque old fishing town, with plenty to see, including the walled medina and its impressive fortresses. There’s also a huge sandy beach just outside the walls. My partner and I spent seven days at the Riad Belle Essaouira and loved it. Our comfortable room was tastefully decorated, and breakfast on the terrace came with a breathtaking ocean view. The food was fresh and good, from fruit salad and coffee to Moroccan treats like pancakes. Two women, along with the owner, looked after us. They were charming, hardworking, always ready for a joke, and happy to teach us about local culture.

We stayed at Riad Belle during the Gnoua music festival last June. Its spot in the heart of the old city was very convenient for getting to the festival. The staff were friendly, and they gave us some good recommendations for places to eat.

Zohra, the landlady, is very kind. The rooms are beautifully decorated and clean, and the riad is right in the middle of the Medina.
