There was a good vibe at the hostel, and the staff were good too. But I stayed two nights and found the bathrooms weren’t good. The bed smelled of sweat, and its cushion sagged in the middle, which gave me back pain and affected my mobility for the rest of the trip. For the price, they could make some improvements in those areas.

The beds and blankets were the only good things for me. The rug in the room was ancient and dirty, so it felt like part of the floor, and the window curtain didn’t give enough privacy. The bathrooms were uncomfortable, and management was unprofessional. The cleaning lady and assistant manager were very kind, though. The breakfast wasn’t edible, and getting to the place at night didn’t feel very safe. I also noticed that guests who share a bad experience on Hostelworld have their reservations cancelled so the hostel can avoid losing its so-called good reviews. They then get an unprofessional, rude response to their review. If you’re traveling for just a day or two, on a tight budget, and only need somewhere to sleep, then maybe. Otherwise, do yourself a favor and skip it.

I felt comfortable here straight away, and the hostel really lives up to its name. The terrace is so lovely, it’s my favorite part! One thing to check: reception might not be open around the clock. If you’re checking out before 9, make sure someone will be there, as that needs to be communicated in advance.

The pool was a lovely extra, and everything else was clean and worked well. The hostel has a big terrace with a magnificent panoramic view, beautiful decor, and a great location between the medina and the new town. Breakfast was included.
