Breakfast was delicious each day and more than we could finish. It ran from 9 to 10.30 am, including during Ramadan, and when we needed to leave early for a tour, they served it 20 minutes ahead of time. Vegan choices included jam, Berber bread, coffee, and fresh orange juice. The manager was friendly, welcomed us with Moroccan mint tea, told us about the riad's history, and was easy to reach on WhatsApp. The entrance took some figuring out in the evening. Google Maps points to the nearest main street in the medina, then three signs guide you through the alleyways to the historic front door. Inside, the original mosaics, wooden ceilings, and storybook stairs and balconies are beautiful. The rooftop terrace was a lovely place to sit at night. My mum had the stunning large first-floor room, while my smaller terrace room was quiet except on the last night, when people gathered on the terrace overhead. Cleanliness is why I can't give it five stars. There was a lot of dust and dirt on top of closets, on light switches, around the bathroom ventilation, and on the rugs, which need replacing or a deep clean. The terrace room bathroom also had black mould, and the walls throughout could use fresh paint. The rooms were humid, perhaps because of the heavy rain in this part of Morocco a couple of weeks earlier. Even so, I'd recommend this affordable, quiet, central place for a Fès trip.

The riad was a nice stay, tucked into a quiet nook just a couple of minutes' walk from the busy part of the Medina. We booked the largest room as a family of four, and there was loads of space. Both showers got very hot, and we never ran out of water, unlike our experience in other Moroccan city medinas. The beds were comfortable. Breakfast was good and plentiful, though nothing to shout about. Kibir met us and took us to the hotel. At first I wasn't sure about the narrow pathways between neighboring Medina buildings, which looked uninhabited and were held apart by pieces of wood. None of the other old cities we'd just visited in Morocco looked like this. Once we explored a bit more, though, it made sense as part of the maze of Fes' ancient Medina. Inside the entrance, the accommodation was spacious and spectacular, with a lovely shared courtyard and rooftop terrace.

The owner or manager was so kind and welcoming, and the service was incredible. My room was huge, comfortable, and I loved staying here.

The rooftop was such a peaceful spot at sunset, with birds all around. Each morning there was a generous traditional breakfast, and the staff answered my WhatsApp questions quickly and were always helpful. Dar Drissi is tucked into a quiet corner that would have been hard to find on my own, so having someone meet me at the airport and another kind person guide me through the Medina while carrying my luggage was a huge help. I was warmly welcomed and shown to a comfortable room with a lovely window opening onto the riad's center and its own bathroom with hot water. A really relaxing, memorable stay.

Good breakfast, friendly people, and the room was comfortable. Close to everything too, so I'm very happy…😀
