The host was very kind, and the location near the medina was excellent. Still, I wouldn't recommend this place. It was cheap, but far too expensive for what we got. We arrived at 4:30 p.m. and weren't offered welcome tea until 8 p.m. The riad and room were generally unkempt. The photos and description on Expedia didn't match what we found, and I don't know how it got a 9.6/10 rating there. The terrace looked like a landfill, and birds in the hallway made it impossible to rest at breakfast. We were on the second floor, up very high, with dirty steps. The room had no trash can, air conditioning, or TV. There was just one outlet, high up, which wasn't practical for two people with short charging cords. No bottled water, peeling walls, and a super hard mattress. On arrival, the bed only had a fitted sheet. We had to ask for sheets because they had only provided blankets. There was no room service as advertised, and the beds were left as they were for all five mornings. The curtains didn't keep the light out. The internet was average and very slow. There were no complimentary toiletries, the shower head leaked, and it wasn't attached to the hose. There was a sewer smell, and the bathroom mirror was too high. Breakfast was average and not very typical, with chocolate or raisin bread but no yogurt or fruit. For five days, we were given only two eggs in a tagine to share. Breakfast was offered at just one time, 9:30 a.m., shared among the three rooms. We ended up squeezed at a small round table, which really wasn't suitable for eating with guests from two other rooms.

Right next to the blue gate, this beautiful riad is part of a local's home. The hosts were very welcoming and accommodating.

The location is the one good thing. The value for money was average, and the staff were unfriendly and unhelpful. They kept trying to rip us off, even on prices we'd already agreed to.
