The restaurant made for a lovely evening, though we didn't stay at the riad. By Fez standards the prices were high, but I thought it was worth it. The service was amazing, with real attention to detail, and the wines were great. The staff were also sweet enough to arrange a cab and find us a porter to walk us to the parking area where it was waiting. The meal was tasty and used very high quality ingredients in simple dishes with little creative touches, though it wasn't the most amazing gourmet meal I've ever had. The fish was wonderful, and the appetizer salads were VERY tasty, even if their flavors weren't mind-blowing. We had crème Brûlée, mouse, and sorbet combos for dessert. The crème brûlée was out of this world, but the sorbet and mouse were nothing special, and we expected more. The ambience and elegance were incredible. If you're in Fes, expect a tasty meal rather than fireworks, plus fantastic wines and amazing service.

Finding it took a little effort, but we got there on foot with Google Maps. My parents and I had dinner in this more than 400-year-old riad, and the history made the meal feel special. It's a wonderful place to experience a traditional Arabic riad if you haven't been in one before. The young local waiter was incredibly kind and friendly, and even offered to show us around. We loved the food, and the rooftop has a stunning view over the Fez Medina, which itself has more than 2,000 years of history. A place I'd say is a must-experience in Fez.

The beds and pillows were wonderful, the water pressure was excellent, and guest service was great. It was a quiet month, so things were slow, but they still paid attention to us. The restaurant food was outstanding; breakfast was fine and did the job, though it wasn't incredible. They also provide a walker to escort you to and from dinner, an absolute 5 ⭐️ offering. Please tip him! Fes is hilly, and this Dar sits high up in a quiet area, which is really nice, though at the end of the day, ugh 😂. It was a star of our trip. They can also book a tour guide. Ask for Hicham, he was 1000/10!

Redouane went far beyond what I expected, helping arrange special requests in Fès and even things beyond the Riad walls, so I could have items made that I'll keep for life. I'll always be grateful. Nezha was incredibly warm and gracious, and I wish her well on her journey. The architecture, food, service, and obvious love that went into the place all made it memorable. For me, Dar Roumana is the ideal Riad, full of centuries of culture, with the calm, art, and inner courtyards of an old sanctuary. It became the highlight of my 5000km road trip between Switzerland and the border with Mauritania. I would love to return, and I think it should be central to a trip through Morocco.

After a busy day out exploring, we loved unwinding in the pretty dining area and side salons. The rooftop terrace has spectacular views across the city. It's a beautiful Dar close to everything, and the service was exceptional. We couldn't have enjoyed our stay more.
