Riad Damia Suite &Spa

The location worked really well for us, with the main bars, restaurants, and markets about a 10-minute walk away. We stayed at Riad Damia for three nights with our daughter and had a wonderful time. Everyone was kind, friendly, and helpful, and made us feel welcome throughout. We’d happily recommend it for a comfortable, enjoyable stay.

We booked a trip through Riad Damia Fès, and it was excellent. The car was comfortable, and the driver was professional and kind. The spa was incredible, and we enjoyed delicious food during our stay. Our room was beautiful and clean, and the friendly staff always made sure we had what we needed. I highly recommend this wonderful experience to anyone visiting Fès.

The location is very good, and the high rooms with their detailed decoration show the property’s real architectural value. But it needs renovation. There was damp on the walls, dirt and dust in many areas, and ants in our bathroom on the second floor. Breakfast options were quite limited. Right after we arrived, a staff member tried to sell us his tours and insisted we cancel the ones we’d already booked. The bedding was also a problem: it was just a sheet and a blanket, and the blanket had visible human hair on it, so I don’t understand how guests are meant to sleep under something that clearly hasn’t been washed after every stay. At night the property is locked and a staff member keeps the key, meaning guests can’t go out. Beyond the inconvenience, that seems like a serious safety concern. There are no windows and guests can’t access the key, so in a fire everyone could be trapped inside.

We were upgraded straight away to a huge second-floor room, which was brilliant, and the staff were friendly and helpful. The Riad looks incredibly beautiful at first, but the worn, run-down condition became hard to ignore. Our room door barely locked. The courtyard gets loud, which is typical for a Riad and something we expected, but staff sometimes made noise until midnight without much consideration. Breakfast was the low point. It was mostly tasteless bread in different shapes, so after day one we went out for a second breakfast 😅. This place could use more care, especially a much better breakfast.
