The meals were a highlight, with real care and passion in every dish. Dar Al Safadi is also gorgeous, with intricate tilework, leafy courtyards, and beautifully decorated rooms that bring traditional Moroccan architecture to life. Its rooftop patio looks out over the city, and the Riad felt like a quiet oasis amid the busy Medina streets. We were welcomed warmly by the owner and his lovely family, who went out of their way to make our stay comfortable. The staff were attentive and friendly, helping with everything from guided tours to local suggestions. Their hospitality made us feel at home from the moment we arrived. We can’t recommend this place enough for an authentic, magical stay in the heart of the old Medina of Fez. We left with full hearts and memories to last a lifetime. Thank you to the owner and his family.

After long days walking around Fez's Medina, our huge room was a great place to rest. It was right by the terrace, with a fantastic view over the whole Medina. They welcomed us with tea and biscuits whenever we wanted a break from walking. We also had dinner both nights we stayed, and it was amazing: three courses plus dessert, with typical Fez food and a few dishes with a twist. It surprised me and tasted so good. The owner was really nice and welcoming too.

Chantal is a wonderful host and a great cook, so don’t miss eating at the hotel. This little Riad is a peaceful refuge in the middle of the Medina’s “chaos,” run by a dedicated team who make a stay in Fez unforgettable.
