The timber floor was nice, and it was good to have a heater in the bathroom. Dinner was good too. Getting here with luggage is difficult, though, and the showerhead’s water flow wasn’t strong enough.

We were made to feel welcome in the comfortable common area, and the staff proudly shared the story of their one-of-a-kind riad. It’s set in the medina, a little away from the other hotels and riads. The tilework is beautiful, even along the narrow, steep stairways, and the staff carried our heavy bags to and from the room. We had an evening meal that was the best we ate in Morocco, with course after course of healthy, flavorful local favorites from the host’s family kitchen. A memorable place.

Breakfast was served in a room that, as I understood it, might not fit all the guests if everyone wanted to eat at once. It also started quite late, at 9 am, and the WiFi wasn’t very strong. The hosts were friendly and polite, and the Junior Suite was exceptionally clean, quiet, spacious, and comfortable, with a large double bed. Its ceiling was stunning, and the room felt like a palace or a museum of Moroccan design. The traditional layout does make it a bit dark, since the windows face the inner courtyard. The location is convenient, about a 10-minute walk from the medina center and 7-10 minutes on foot from the main medina parking area. We stayed two nights.
