Gite du Barrage

The owners were so welcoming. It’s a beautiful place, really peaceful and relaxing.

Fatima made us feel at home from the moment we arrived, offering fragrant Moroccan tea. Dinner was warming soup and local fish at a reasonable price, and breakfast was delicious and very filling. The rooms were clean and had what we needed. It’s a lovely quiet place in nature, and I’m looking forward to seeing it again on a future visit. Thank you, dear Fatima, for your hospitality.

We needed a stress free holiday, and Fatima and her husband made sure we had one. They were kind and respectful, very easygoing, and went out of their way for us. We were spoiled, hhhh, and our family is planning a trip here too. We stayed 9 nights and 10 days, and the location was wonderful. Fatima was waiting when we parked, showed us around, and had prepared a lovely room with an amazing sunset view. It was spotless and clearly put together with care. The room was cleaned every day with fresh sheets and towels. We ate there all the time because the meals were delicious and filling, especially the trout. Fatima is a great cook, using fresh herbs and ingredients, and the prices were lower than many hotels and restaurants. We’ll be back to gite du barrage again and again.

The rooms are basic, but the setting is beautiful and the food is great. What really made it a gem for us was the staff. When we asked where to go for a stroll, the owner pointed us to the local reservoir, explained the area, and made us feel very welcome. We tend to choose places based on the people who run them, and this one was a pleasure.
