I lived here in the 90’s while writing my book “Moroccan Interiors” and always felt the location couldn't be beaten. The house still seems loved and well cared for, thoughtfully modernized while keeping its eccentric air. I miss it! 💙

I just got back from a lovely stay. The host was so friendly and helpful. He arranged our taxi to the airport and helped set up a taxi for a day trip. He even suggested we travel with another couple heading to the same places so we could split the cost. They were happy to share, and we had a lovely time together. The hotel has loads of character, with decor full of antiques and colour. Each room is decorated differently to match the hotel's style. We were told a little about how it came together from three houses, which helped explain how everything connects. There's a lovely terrace where you can watch the sunrise over the marine and beach. It's well placed, with two entrances, one into the Medina and the other onto the main road. The marina bay area and beach are easy to walk to. We walked most places, though taxis are easy to find. Breakfast was plentiful and typically Moroccan, with breads, spreads, tea or coffee, fruit, and eggs. A great way to start the day. There are shared spaces where you can sit and admire the decor or relax. Ours was in the main building, so we didn't use it, and we were out most of the time. The main downside is the number of stairs, though many roads and hotels in the Medina area are similar because it's on a hill.

We were a group of 14 staying for three nights, and we weren't the easiest group to manage. Tariq was delightful and helped us with everything. The sea views and direct beach access were outstanding, as were the unique decor and especially Tariq's exceptional service. Some of the furniture and walls could use a little touch-up. We'll definitely be back!

Tarek, the manager, made getting there easy by picking me up at Tangier train station for 50 dirhams (€5), which felt reasonable. The place sits right in the medina and has two entrances, one opening into it and another toward the seafront. I got a very warm welcome, liked the original, beautiful decor, and thought the price was excellent. Breakfast was pretty good too.

The parking lot right across from the hotel was really handy. The hotel itself is lovely, with a warm welcome, a typical breakfast, and a great spot in the middle of the Medina. We'd be happy to return!
