Sanmao Desert Luxury Camp

The beds and food were good, but the camp doesn't run well. The internet barely worked, some rooms had no sheets, and when we asked, we got used, dirty ones. It was cold at night because the heating wasn't working. Sometimes there was no water for the toilets, and the shower pressure was almost nonexistent. The staff were uncooperative and seemed not to care.

The team worked hard to make us feel welcome, even when rain kept them busy cleaning and moving the cushions in and out. They kept checking what else they could do for us. That care really stood out. We spent two nights there, watching an amazing sunset, going on a 4x4 dune trip and an ATV ride, and enjoying music by the bonfire. The young musicians played for us, got us dancing, and let us try their instruments. Our arrival by camel was lovely, with our bags brought along in an SUV. We were welcomed like old friends and treated royally. The individual tents were large, spotless, nicely decorated, and had water, a shower, and all the comforts of a hotel. The courtyard had benches, tables, swings, and lamps that made it feel like a fairytale at night. The manager and several young men on the team were always around and attentive. Breakfast and dinner were better than we expected in the desert, with a good menu that could accommodate our wishes, served in a beautifully decorated tent. We’re very grateful for all their effort. It reinforced our impression of the high quality of tourism in Morocco.

The camel ride, sunset, dinner, and music by the fire made for a magical night, and sleeping beneath the stars in such comfort was a real highlight of our Morocco trip. Sanmao Desert Luxury Camp was clean and beautifully set among the Sahara dunes. The staff were so kind and made us feel at home. Highly recommend it!

The day trip to meet the nomads was one of the best parts of our trip. My girlfriend and I loved our stay, and everything felt just right. The food was spectacular, and Aziz was so kind, friendly, and easy to talk to. I highly recommend it to anyone visiting the beautiful Sahara desert.
