Oscar Hotel by Atlas Studios

The food was not too bad, which I appreciated, but a lot about the hotel felt done on the cheap. The building is old and needs an upgrade, the rooms are too small, and the towels were worn and frayed. A standard room comes with a double bed, while a queen size costs extra. There was no internet in the bedroom. The staff seemed unmotivated, mostly standing around chatting, and didn't seem to like being interrupted with questions.

Good food, which isn't easy to find in that area, and good service. The location is perfect, attached to Atlas studios, which are worth a visit. It's an amazing, well-maintained hotel, full of memorabilia, with beautiful spaces all around, nice pool areas, and pretty cool rooms.

The rooms were comfortable, the breakfast menu was excellent, and the bar service was great. Dinner wasn't so good, so we ate out. We came for a long weekend on a work and social trip with a colleague, visited the film studios, went off-roading, and had a great time. The hotel's in a great location. If you're unlucky enough to be there with a coach tour full of weekend warriors doing 15 countries in 5 days, service can take ages. We found it quicker to go out. We also bumped into the charming famous personalities Tim McInnerny and his wife, known from Notting Hill, Gladiator 2, and Game of Thrones.

Dinner was really good, and the service was excellent. The place was so quiet and peaceful, just right for a relaxing meal.
