Taking the day pass was such a good idea. We got some sun and peace by the heated pool, away from the busy medina of Essaouira, and the buffet lunch was delicious, with a range of vegetarian dishes and grilled meats. It was an excellent afternoon, and I’d highly recommend it. We also had a look at the unusually designed accommodation and would love to stay here one day.

The rooms had such distinctive architecture and details, and the location was a great place to relax away from the town’s bustle. The staff were wonderful, deeply kind, friendly, and helpful. I was so sad to leave after such an incredible experience. We’ll absolutely come back.

I was here from 19 December to 27 December 2025 for a Christmas yoga retreat with a dear friend, who is also a yoga teacher and runs top class retreats around the world. Sadly, this stay didn’t feel top class. It was cold. My round room looked nice, but didn’t have a wood fire for heat. Some of the rooms do, but mine had a gas bottle heater put in a few hours before I arrived. The room was cold and damp, and smelled of gas. The sheets were cold too. The heater had to stay on all day, every day to make any difference, and after 8 days of that, the room was only starting to warm up as I was leaving. The Wi-Fi was out from 8am-5pm for 3 days. I went to reception repeatedly to report it, and was told it would be fixed. The bathroom tap in my room leaked, leaving the wash area covered in freezing water that I had to mop up each morning. One person in our group even missed dinner one night to go into the nearest town and buy hot water bottles for all of us, hoping to warm our sheets. We had to ask for extra blankets and replacement gas bottles when the heaters went out. The yoga room was cold and had a wet floor, so on day 1 we had to do yoga in our coats. They brought in two heaters on day 2, and by day 4 there were four. When we raised all our concerns together during the stay, no compensation was offered. I wouldn’t visit or stay at this hotel in winter. For my final few days, I moved to a Riad in Essaouira medina. My room there had a heater and extra blankets, was warm, and the Wi-Fi worked. Those are basic things I expect from a hotel.

The pool area was peaceful and relaxing, a nice place to unwind. The houses are cute and cozy, especially in the evening with the fireplace. From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel welcome. We also had a delicious traditional Moroccan dish for dinner.
