Dar kaltoum

The staff were lovely, and breakfast was delicious. It’s also just a 5-10 minute walk to the waterfalls, with a staircase leading right down to them. For 450dh, we got a room for 4-5 people with breakfast, which was the best room we’ve had in Morocco at that price. The Ouzoud province does add a tourist charge of 15/20dh per person. Everything was spotless, and the mattresses were very comfortable. The bed linen and towels looked new. I’d highly recommend it!

We had a lovely view across the whole valley from this spot near the waterfall. The rooms were clean and nice, and the atmosphere was very friendly. The receptionist was friendly too.

We’d definitely stay at Dar Kaltoum again if we return to Ouzoud. It’s a 10-15 minute walk to the top of the waterfalls and about 25 minutes to the bottom, where you can swim or hire a boat. Be ready for lots of stairs. We liked the garden for breakfast, and you can have other meals there too. Everything was very clean, including the rooms and the large kitchen. While I waited for lunch, they invited me to have a look around the kitchen. The room was a comfortable size for two, with a Moroccan style sitting room, a private toilet and shower, and a small bedroom. There were no drawers or closet, so we kept our things on the couches. The room had plenty of power outlets and a mini fridge. We bought some village-made goat cheese and put it in the fridge. We slept with the windows open, though there was A/C in the bedroom. At night we could hear frogs, dogs, and donkeys in the distance, but none were too loud. On Friday there was music and dancing near the village center. It stopped around 22:00. The WiFi worked downstairs but not in the rooms. It was easy enough to find, and arranging things over WhatsApp with the receptionist went really well. It’s right next to a huge hotel, but this place felt more personal.

The place was clean and nice, and the food was great. I’m giving four stars because nobody could find the remote for the A/C heater in my room. Dear owner, please find it...
