The room had a broken window and smelled of bathroom sewage, and the service was terrible. In the morning there was no receptionist to help. I waited a full hour and couldn’t reach anyone by phone. They didn’t get back to me until 5 p.m., after 9 a.m., and then refused to refund the day when no staff were available to deal with the problem. I had to find somewhere else to stay. According to Ali, I should have stayed in the stench or gone out into the cold and rain. Stay away.

The so-called “king suite” was cramped, had no amenities, and involved way too many stairs. There are three flights inside the unit: the bathroom is on the ground floor, one flight up is the king bed, and two more lead to the twin beds. My 14-year-old, who’s about average height, had to bend over to get through. There was only a small table and no chairs, no soap or anything else in the bathroom, and a useless crib in the room. The towels had big, obvious yellow stains. Worst stay ever.

The location is great and the staff are really nice, but the rooms were a bit dirty and it was so loud at night that we couldn’t sleep. It’s okay for a cheap couple of nights, but I won’t stay here again.

For a short business trip, this was perfect. It’s affordable, well located in the Medina, and close to all the amenities. The place is small, rustic, and functional, with a lovely terrace and very pleasant staff. I’d stay again.
