We enjoyed the room, the food was great, the pool was nice, and the private beach area was excellent. But the front desk girl Sarah was extremely rude and ignorant from the moment we arrived. We’d paid extra for an ocean view but got only a partial view. We decided that was okay. Then we asked what time the pool closed, and she told us 6:30. We didn’t know if that was right, since hotels usually keep pools open until around 10, so we went and enjoyed it anyway. The workers outside didn’t say anything, which I was glad about. With a late check-in, you should be able to enjoy what you paid for. After breakfast ends around 11, you’d expect to use the pool again, but they take until checkout time to clean it. That seemed ridiculous too. Whenever we walked between the room, pool and food, Sarah gave us stares and petty smiles and giggles behind our backs. We were genuinely curious why she was being so rude for no reason. Aside from that, we had an enjoyable stay.
The hotel’s setting, building and beach are lovely, but there’s a lot to improve. WiFi was very slow, there was seaweed in the pool and it had turned green, and the shower had mould. Water leaked through the bathroom ceiling on our second night. They moved us to another room quickly, which we appreciated. Laundry wasn’t working, and they seemed unable or unwilling to sort out a lot of things. The rooms were much smaller in reality than the booking details said: listed as 60 square meters, they felt closer to 35. When we brought this up, they said ours was a “superior” room and that we’d booked “standard,” even though our confirmation showed the opposite and said 60 square meters. I guess it’s above average by Moroccan standards. For the European price, though, I expected better care, service and willingness to solve problems.
The coast views are among the best around. Rooms were tidy, clean and spacious, with housekeeping scheduled daily. Staff were helpful and quick to respond, and seemed well managed. Food choices were limited, but the ingredients were fresh and it tasted great. I’d happily recommend it and visit again.
It was a peaceful place to relax, and I really enjoyed my time there. Most of the staff were friendly and helpful. I did run into a minor issue, though, and the manager handled it poorly. That fell short of what I expected from a place of this standard. I wish the manager had been more courteous and professional with guests.
By the next day, I found a big cockroach in the bathtub. Then the following day, there was no water in the bathrooms anywhere in the hotel, and staff couldn’t say when it would be back. Earlier, I’d checked in at 3:45 PM, after the stated 3:00 PM check-in time, only to be told my room wasn’t ready. I left the room at 11:00 AM the next day and returned at 4:30 PM to find it hadn’t been cleaned at all. The front desk gave me the silliest excuse I could imagine. I’m sure this was my first and last visit. I’d question the hotel’s four-star rating; I’d give it two stars. Reception staff didn’t seem trained and had no idea about etiquette.
