We were three people, and the meal was a letdown. The pasta tasted okay, but it was bland and the portion was tiny. The tajine we ordered to share between two was also extremely small, even though we said it was for two and paid for two. Worse, there was a piece of plastic in it. The flavor was dull and didn’t have the character of a classic Tajine. We paid almost 300 Dirham for three small meals, more than double what comparable restaurants nearby charge, and we left hungry. The value just isn’t there. Definitely wouldn’t recommend it.

I’ve been coming here for surf trips for 17 years, and the location is perfect. It’s a welcoming family business, and I believe the hotel has been in the family for several generations. The owners are always around and glad to help. Rooms are basic, but very clean, with an art deco look that fits the town. Five stars, every time.

For western prices, the portions were small, and the food felt more like a Spanish restaurant than real Moroccan cooking. The same money would have covered two days of meals at nearby local places, where I think the food would’ve been better too. This was the worst meal I’ve had in Sidi Ifni so far. I wouldn’t recommend it, especially with so many good local options nearby.

I stayed for 10 days and enjoyed the restaurant, which was cozy, with good food at reasonable prices and music from Jimmie Hendrix's time in Morocco. My room opened onto the sea-view terrace, a perfect place for morning yoga. It’s an amazing throwback to the hippie days. Don’t expect perfect rooms or facilities, but the price is good.

Hôtel Suerte Loca is a pleasant, inexpensive place to stay in Sidi Ifni, with a certain old-fashioned charm. It’s within easy walking distance of the fish market, banks, several beaches, promenades, and a few modest restaurants, cafés, and shops. The hotel dates to 1936 and has 17 rooms. The large rooftop terrace gives you panoramic views of the ocean and town in every direction, with a few loungers for sitting in the sun. There’s also a shared dormitory up there for 100 Dirhams per person per night, with great ocean views and a rooftop toilet and shower nearby. Room prices range from 130 to 260 Dirhams. The cheaper rooms are clean and basic, with a window, a clothes rack, and a sink with a mirror but only cold water. Some look out to the ocean, while others face the road from a terrace. Guests in these rooms use a flush toilet and a separate clean shower room with hot and cold water in the hallway. Bring your own towels, soap, and shampoo. A few of the pricier rooms have sea-view terraces and private bathrooms with showers and hot and cold water. Every room is on the first floor, reached by climbing 16 steps from the outside entrance at the far right of the hotel front. There are handrails on both sides of the steep stairs, but they may still be difficult for older guests, people with mobility disabilities, or anyone using crutches or a wheelchair. There are three Wi-Fi connections, and they usually work, but the signal is much better in certain spots, including the rooftop. It can drop out temporarily or stay unavailable for hours. Some nearby cafés have a more reliable connection. At night, you can fall asleep to the sound of the ocean below. There’s no heating or air-conditioning, though you’re unlikely to need either, and warm blankets are provided. Daily maid service is included, but there are no televisions and only one plug for charging a phone. Staying here, or just eating here, feels like stepping back in time. Breakfast is available for a modest charge, with omelettes or fried eggs, toast, coffee or tea, and freshly squeezed juice. Lunch, dinner, and soups such as harira are served too. No alcoholic drinks are available, and credit cards aren’t accepted.
