The location made getting around easy, close to Bahia Palace and Jema El Fna square but tucked onto a quiet street. Our room was upgraded without an extra charge, which had never happened to us at any place we’d stayed before. The staff were polite, helpful, and really nice, and made our time in Marrakesh better. A cozy, authentic place that feels thoughtfully run. Easy 10/10.

They threatened us and kept us from leaving for a while, which felt like being trapped. When we tried to cancel, they wanted to charge £350, an absurd amount. The hotel and service were awful, and the location is a dark, unsafe alley that many people didn’t seem to know how to find. I absolutely wouldn’t recommend this place. I’m giving one star only because Google requires it. Please take my advice and don’t go.

The host was so friendly and quick to answer our countless questions or sort out problems. He can also arrange trips and beauty treatments, along with other things, at really cheap prices. The accommodation itself was amazing, with style and comfort fitting together perfectly. Really recommend it.

The location puts souks, juice stalls, and local restaurants just outside the sidestreet, and the Wi-Fi was unbelievably good for videos and conference calls. We stayed four nights, our second riad, and the service was great too. Mohammed was a sweet, hardworking host. One night we went out for juice, but the vendors had packed up. When we came back empty-handed, he offered to make orange juice, then brought us another glass and cookies when we seemed too shy to ask. A little orange cat also came to visit when we left our door open. Breakfast was plentiful, the cleaners brought fresh towels daily, and the terrace was lovely for sunning. There’s a stork’s nest and some neighbourhood cats to spot up there too. A few small things could be better: the sink handles needed many turns before water came out, the drain was slow, and the shower hose couldn’t reach the hook, so you had to hold the showerhead. That may be common in Europe, but North Americans aren’t used to showering one-handed. The shampoo and shower gel bottles could use labels. One held clear liquid and the other creamy pink, but the cleaning lady refilled the clear bottle with pink liquid, so they got mixed up. Not a huge deal if you bring your own shampoo, just something I noticed. Thanks for having us. Best wishes to Mohammed with his law studies, and to our little orange cat friend for a safe, happy life.
