A strange place, and that's part of its charm. We arrived by mistake in winter, when the hotel seemed to be the only one open in town. Above the beach there was a campsite for motorhomes, with a cafe, a shop, and what seemed to be the town's only restaurant. The visitors around town mostly seemed older, and plenty of people at the campsite had dogs. There may be several more restaurants open in summer. For a walk, the dunes about 10 minutes north of the hotel lead into the southern part of the local nature reserve, where you can watch for rare birds and animals. Go another half hour or so north and you'll reach the estuary, full of birdlife. We saw pink flamingos, which was amazing. The rooms are basic but comfortable. Hot water eventually came through both morning and evening, so I had no complaints. Breakfast was good, as it often is in Morocco, and the receptionist was very helpful. I slept better here than anywhere else during my two weeks in Morocco, which earned the five stars. A weird but fond memory.

The residence is just a minute from the beach, and the guy there was really nice and able to answer all our questions. We loved the breakfast and geranium tea. The rooms could use some improvements soon. The bathroom and toilet are tiny, so showering leaves the whole space wet. Hot water was available at some point during the day and in the morning, but it wasn't very hot in the evening. I guess that's because of the solar panels. Still, it was a good experience!
