The night before check-in, at 10 PM, Oceana Surf Camp called to say there had been a “double booking” and asked me to cancel. When I wouldn’t, they tried to steer me toward a more expensive room. I’d reserved a triple room with a sea view and balcony through Booking.com two weeks ahead. It was a very stressful and unprofessional way to handle a confirmed reservation.

The manager mocked me in the hostel, as if I were a clown. That was the worst part, and it was disgusting. My charger was also stolen, the corridor and toilet smelled unbearable, and the rooms were dusty and dirty. Even the bedding was just a dusty plaid blanket that looked like it might never get cleaned. It’s sad, because it feels like they don’t care anymore with so many tourists arriving in Taghazout every day.

The view is stunning, and the people are lovely and really friendly. It’s an amazing hostel among the hotels, with plenty on offer for a fair price. The vibe is great, and I’d recommend taking trips with them.

The location was nice, everything was very clean, and the service was really good. I had to be in Agadir at 6am for my flight, and they had a taxi waiting right outside the hotel at 5am sharp.

The room got very hot and felt short on oxygen. It only had one window, facing the floor, and we couldn’t leave it open at night because of the noise. We’d picked the place because we wanted somewhere quiet to sleep, and the receptionist said that room wouldn’t be noisy. That wasn’t our experience at all. It took us three hours to fall asleep because we could hear every step, word, and door from other guests. Then from 8 o’clock in the morning, a parrot at reception made a huge racket that carried into the room as if it were beside us. Never again. If you need sleep, don’t stay there.
