Surfari Morocco

The people I met were the best part of camp. We quickly felt like a big family and spent nearly all our free time together. I also have great memories of yoga with Natalia, who was lovely and great with her students, and the sunset sandboarding trip. Momo took us to a great spot after surfing, where we spent about two hours. New Year’s Eve was fun too: Momo surprised us with a band playing and singing on the terrace. The pizza party was another nice change. My feelings about the stay are still mixed, even writing this almost two months later. I booked a Morocco surf and yoga camp for New Year’s only about three weeks ahead, and after researching Taghazout I chose Momo’s place because many reviews were positive and there weren’t many places left during the busy period. At first, communication was good. I asked about a private room, which had been my plan, and Momo said he would try to arrange one. I sent the €100 deposit right away. After that, though, he stopped replying, and I worried about my arrival almost until the last day. In the end, an airport transfer was arranged. I arrived late at night and waited more than an hour for Momo. He eventually came with warm food, which was a kind gesture, and explained he’d been busy. With so many guests over New Year’s, he couldn’t give me a private room, so I understood and accepted a five-bed dorm. The dorm was very basic and in poor condition, small, dark, and uncomfortable. Although there was a window, it couldn’t be opened. It looked nothing like the photos on the website. Breakfast started at 10 and was nearly always the same: marmalade, bread, fresh smoothies, and tajin-fried eggs. The quality and portions seemed good for the first couple of days, but the meals soon felt repetitive. Breakfast could drag on for up to two hours, so we sometimes didn’t leave for the surf spot until after noon. I started doing other activities before breakfast so I wouldn’t lose the time. The lunch box was similarly basic and repetitive, usually tuna salad or a sandwich. Dinner was much like breakfast, mostly some kind of meat or vegetable tajin. I liked that the instructors picked different surf spots each day based on the waves and weather. We were split into beginner and intermediate groups, but the intermediate surfers were left mostly on their own while the instructors stayed with beginners. That made it hard to improve at an intermediate level. The internet was also very poor, often unavailable. After we asked several times, Momo shared a hotspot from his personal phone. There are good things about the camp, but I think you can find better conditions in Taghazout for similar money. The place has potential, but Momo needs to renovate the accommodation and make things work better. It needs more attention and investment.

Loved the surfing, and the guides and hosts were amazing. The accommodation, food, location, and other guests were great too. Good vibes, definitely recommend.

I had such a good time here, and the terrace with its sea view is a lovely place to watch the sunset every day. The rooms are cozy, the Wi-Fi is super fast, and breakfast is amazing, with juice, omelet, cheese, bread, fruit, and all sorts of other things. This camp feels like home in Taghazout. Momo and Abdul are brothers and always so nice to the guests, and Aziz is an interesting surf instructor. Thanks to everyone here. I’ll definitely be back!

The surfing was epic, exactly what I’d hoped for, and yoga made a perfect balance to the week. Staying and surfing with TSW felt like a dream come true. Everyone on staff was kind, caring, and respectful. They cooked delicious food and taught us about their language, traditions, and local secrets that make Morocco and Tagazout special. Momo, the owner of TSW, was so positive and helpful and made each day brighter. Abdoule was an incredible surf instructor, helped us find what we needed around town, and introduced us to wonderful people.
