Taghazout Beach

There are no food trucks on the beach, so bring something to eat. Afterward, Taghazout has plenty of restaurants with lovely sea views. The beach itself is wide, with clean, soft sand and clear water, especially in March and April. That’s a relaxing time to visit during surf season, before it gets too crowded. Kids have lots of space to run and play by the water, and you can rent sunbeds and umbrellas. Camels and horses offer rides along the beach, and there’s parking with someone watching the cars for a small fixed fee. It gets very busy in summer, particularly July and August. A fantastic beach for families, surfers, or anyone wanting a peaceful coastal break.

My visit left me with a sense of calm and some meaningful encounters, and I was struck by how many visitors come from abroad each year. The locals promote their village in a modest but inspiring way. Taghazout has a charm of its own, with simplicity, nature, and an authentic Moroccan spirit, as well as huge tourism potential. Local efforts are real, though still limited beside what the village could offer. I hope local authorities and tourism businesses give more attention to public facilities, infrastructure, cleanliness, and health services while preserving the traditions and culture that make Taghazout special.

There are lots of tourists enjoying the bars, restaurants, and ocean, and it’s a pretty place to visit. The beach, though, is quite dirty, with rubbish and animal faeces.

The vibe is great, but the trash spoils it. Maybe I’d have rated the place higher if I surfed. As it is, it could be a 10/10, but unfortunately it isn’t. P.S. They say all sewers lead to the sea. ☠️
