Mövenpick Hotel & Casino Malabata Tanger

I stayed at this Tangier hotel for three days and had a comfortable, clean, well-organized visit. Hamza made a big difference with his kindness and help, always being available when I needed something. That made everything easier and more enjoyable. It was a pleasant stay, and I'd definitely recommend the hotel. It won't be my last visit.

We'd planned to stay at moevenpick on 6.1.2026. In the afternoon, we saw a rate of 1.300 dirham, but unfortunately hadn't booked. When we finally arrived at moevenpick tanger at 1am on 7.1.2026, ‚reception manager‘ mr hamzan said the lowest price he could offer was 1.600 dirham, even though several standard rooms were still available and we needed an even shorter overnight stay. I usually think moevenpick is a very good hotel, including in tanger, so this price increase left me frustrated and feeling betrayed. It was a bad experience with the pricing, sorry to say.

Though it's officially a five-star property, the look and finish feel more like what I'd expect from a four-star hotel.

The pool and gardens are a real highlight, and the hotel has beautiful views all around. We also found the staff friendly and attentive, the food excellent, and the modern foyer both impressive and comfortable. I'd been a little worried after reading some reviews, but this turned out to be a lovely luxury hotel. We paid for a Deluxe room, weren't happy with it, and asked to move. The room we accepted was spacious and very comfortable. Some of the other rooms could use an upgrade to that standard. I also missed having a welcome book with basic information, since otherwise you have to keep asking the helpful staff. There's a lovely park opposite, though you'll need a taxi to get to the Medina and similar places. The ride is only about 10 minutes and reasonably priced. I'd recommend it for a relaxing stay.
