We never got inside because the host didn't answer the door. There was a lot of cat poo outside, and we knocked, called, and messaged on WhatsApp and Booking.com for about an hour, trying to find out what was happening. He didn't reply at all. After 9:30 pm we had to find somewhere else to stay, which was stressful and frustrating. There are other lovely places with kind staff a short walk away, so I'd find somewhere else where this won't happen. I told Booking.com, but they weren't helpful.

Yves took great care of us. He showed us around the souk in the evening, explaining what things were and what they should cost, which really opened our eyes. He also gave us helpful advice for our travel plans. Dinner was fine and the service kind. The hotel and room met our travelling standards. I'd recommend it unless you're the five-star all-inclusive kind of tourist.

We got really useful advice from Yves for improving our road trip. He's a great man, and the Riad is a lovely place where everything is made by his hands. Highly recommended for backpackers!

I can only give one star because there's no option for zero. The owner seemed to be under the influence of alcohol. The rooms were dirty, and in just 30 minutes we saw two cockroaches in the "hotel." There was also an aggressive dog, and to top it off, a pig in the dining room. Highly not recommended!

The riad is in a great location, with staff who are wonderfully attentive and a host who is both special and very informative. If you're after a special treat in Taroudant, this is the place.
