Kasbah du Peintre

We spent one night here on the way from the desert in M’Hamid back to Marrakech, and really enjoyed getting to know the owner and his brother, the painter. They were warm and welcoming, and made us feel like family. The building is a beautifully restored 500 year old place, with tasty food and a very hot shower. There’s also a cuddly cat who may settle in your lap while you have tea and cookies. A wonderful stay!

The food was absolutely delicious. As a Moroccan, I often find it hard to eat out, but everything at la kasbah du peintre was great. The hosts also give you plenty of respect for your privacy. The house and room feel cozy and beautiful, with a lovely terrace and an amazing view. They welcomed us warmly and talked with us about life, making us feel at home and part of the family. We were so lucky to find such a lovely place and people. I already want to return and wholeheartedly recommend it. Twehechtkoum

We planned one night and ended up staying three. Azdine and Ahmed are wonderful, loving brothers who share great stories and their beautifully prepared home with guests. We slept perfectly every night and had some of the best food in Morocco. They also pointed us toward incredibly beautiful hidden places. The people and the place both feel magical.

The kasbah has modern en-suite rooms and facilities, even though it looks historic, and it’s beautifully decorated. Parking is just a short walk away through historic buildings. The hosts were so friendly and accommodating that for a while we forgot we weren’t at home. The painter is hilarious, and his beautiful works are famous. He speaks fluent French, while his gregarious brother speaks fluent English.
