We stayed at Riad Dar rehla, right in the old Medina, basically among the marketplace and local homes. It took a while to find our way through the Medina maze, but once there the rooftop view was fabulous, and it was quiet for such a central spot. The hosts are a lovely family, always smiling and ready to help. Two sets of Moroccan tea cost 30 dirhams. Breakfast is included from 8:30, with orange juice, coffee or tea, two breads, rifa, jam and butter. It was pretty nice. The room was comfortable and had aircon. The view was the best part for me. I sat outside at sunrise and sunset, watching the mountain and enjoying the calm. The room was better than I expected for the price, and made the Tetouan trip pretty awesome. There are a couple of things to know. The old rooms aren’t very soundproof, so sounds from the room may carry if you’re there with your partner. As expected in an old Moroccan Medina, there were ants in our room, crawling out from behind the toilet shower tiles. The hosts clean the whole building around 3-4pm with tile soap and water, and they cleaned our room well, replacing blankets and towels when we stayed more than one night.

Rachida and Soumia were so kind and welcoming, and the owner, Ibrahim, was very friendly too. We really enjoyed our stay, and the rooftop is beautiful with an amazing view. Breakfast is included, and the location is handy for everything, including Feddane Park, Iglesia de Nuestra Señora de la Victoria, and the Royal Palace. We’d definitely stay here again if we return to Tetouan.

The owners, a husband and wife, treated me so well that I felt right at home. They also showed real integrity when my credit cards slipped out of my bag and ended up behind the sofa without me noticing. I’d been out all day, and when I came back they told me the cleaning person had found and kept them safe for me. I really appreciate that. I enjoyed the pretty room, lovely terrace view and delicious food. I love this riad, highly recommend it, and would certainly stay again if I visit Tetouan.

The owners were very friendly, and the location in the medina was good. The terrace had a nice view, and the room was large. But even with all that space, the bathroom was tiny. Humidity was bad in both the bathroom and room, and the paint was peeling off the walls. Breakfast was very poor, so I preferred eating outside.

The toilet gave off a bit of a smell unless you left the windows open, but otherwise I’d definitely recommend this place. The riad is in the middle of the old city, with lots of shops nearby, yet it stayed very quiet at night. There’s a nice rooftop terrace where you can sit and feel the mountain breeze. My room was clean and had everything I needed, and the staff were nice and helpful.
