Riad Dar Fama

The staff at Dar Fama went out of their way to make us comfortable and help us get around. They pointed us toward sights, including some treats and places off the usual path. The room was comfortable and looked like the pictures. It's right in the middle of the Medina, near Bab Okla, which made it easy to explore for the several days we stayed. I'd happily recommend it.

Wi'am at reception welcomed us so kindly and was understanding, helping us professionally from the moment we arrived. I especially liked the staff, and Saad was always smiling and incredibly helpful. A wonderful, relaxing place.

Our family of four had a really enjoyable stay at this small hotel. It was very quiet, and the rooms were compact but comfortable. We were glad to have AC. The service was the standout: the staff helped escort us to meals, set up tours and answer all our questions. Breakfast was simple and tasty, especially on the rooftop terrace.

Getting there can be confusing. The riad sits deep in the medina market on a small street, with only a little sign and a door you need to knock on. The lanes are a maze, and Google Maps, GPS and phone signal were often unreliable. We got lost trying to return several times. Call the staff from Bab Al Okla gate when you arrive and follow their advice so they can come meet you. We managed to find it with our bags on arrival, but we'd have been glad of the help. People passing by can make some noise, though it didn't spoil the stay for us. Inside, the building is amazing and unique, and the staff were friendly and went out of their way to help. The city itself is fascinating, and we'd never been anywhere like it. The riad was clean, comfortable, full of atmosphere and right in the heart of the Medina.
