I liked the decor, which makes the place feel like a step back in time while still being in the present. The staff were polite and helpful. I’d recommend it to anyone, though getting around has restrictions, so it’s more suitable for able-bodied people.

If you’re coming to Morocco, book three or more nights for the desert. It’s 100% worth it. You can find travel agents everywhere in Marrakesh or Fez, and the road trip is beautiful, with lots of places to see, including this lovely town where Game of Thrones was filmed. One tip about the camels: keep the ride to 30 minutes. Don’t take them for too long, they’re very tired. When we were leaving the desert on them, I saw their condition and felt awful. They aren’t given much time to rest.

I came with my daughter and we both loved this desert hotel. The breakfast was very good, and the crew were welcoming and lovely.

The manager was really helpful during our two nights, arranging dinner at fairly short notice and getting some clothes washed. It’s a very atmospheric place to stay. They do have visitors, but that didn’t really affect our stay, and the money is needed to maintain the building. It’s well placed for Ouarzazate, Ait Benhaddou, and the film studios.

It’s a well-maintained Kasbah that also operates as a restaurant. For 20Dh you can tour the whole place, or just sit on the restaurant side for a meal. The restaurant was closed when we arrived, so I can’t say how the food is.
