Hotel la Vallee

Right in the middle of the gorge, this place has a lovely terrace, kind staff, and air-conditioned rooms. Amazing spot!

We felt right at home here. It's a perfect base for climbers, with a great location, friendly staff who are flexible about meals, good internet, and very hot shower water.

The back terrace by the river is peaceful, surrounded by the canyon scenery. It's easy to walk into the canyon or get away from the bustle. Ibrahim and the staff were lovely, friendly, and helpful. The rooms are basic, but the hot water had great pressure, which was a dream and hard to come by in Morocco. Strong internet too, so it's a good place to work if you need to. 10/10 recommend.

We checked out early because the room was so filthy. There were hairs on the bedding, an active ant nest that had reached the bathroom, and moths in both the curtains and duvet. It was disgusting and clearly hadn’t been cleaned properly. The staff’s friendliness felt forced. They offered to carry our bags but struggled, so we felt we had to help, and we had a small accident on the stairs. When we decided to leave, they asked to see our Booking.com confirmation and took a photo of it. We suspect they use these photos to post fake positive reviews in guests’ names, without consent. That would explain the 9.4 rating, which didn’t match our experience at all. We chose the hotel because of that high score and expected a decent stay. Instead, between the hygiene, the awkward help with our luggage, and the suspicious request at checkout, we found the place deceptive and essentially a scam. We’d never return. Look elsewhere, and don’t trust the rating.
