Riad De Rêve

We felt at home in this peaceful oasis, a welcome break from haggling over prices and hearing “amigo amigo.” The owner is thoughtful, understanding, and a wonderful host as well as a tremendous cook. His tagines have been the best of our trip so far. He also arranges desert outings, so you're in good hands. We took a private trip that cost a bit more than the others, but it was completely worth it. He did everything he could to make it an unforgettable experience for the rest of our lives. Fantastic is all I can say.

We came looking for one night's stay and ended up spending three days at his beautiful Riad. Abdulsalam gave us such a friendly welcome, even though we arrived late at night and on the spur of the moment. We made a tajine together and had a private cooking class until 2 a.m. It was our best evening with him, with tea served all the time. The next day, Abdul took us into the desert with two other nomads, and we got the local experience we were hoping for. We're two women, 26 and 27, and felt safe with him the whole time. The two days and one night in the desert were special: a beautiful sunset, a comfortable bed under the stars, tajine cooked over the fire, homemade sandbread during a second cooking class, and lots of laughter and fun. It was the perfect experience, and we'll always remember it. Our Nomade names are qarma and najma.

Abdulsalam made us feel at home and took care of everything I needed. He was an amazing host, and this felt like a safe place. The riad was clean, comfortable, and charming, with fast, reliable wifi. Breakfast was plentiful and delicious, and the center of Zagora is just a five-minute walk away. The desert trip he offered was authentic and unique, better than anything we'd experienced before in Merzouga. I highly recommend it, and it was a trip I'll never forget. Book a month ahead if you're going, since it's very popular. I can't say enough good things about the place. Thank you for everything, Abdulsalam. I hope to see you again.

The owner can arrange unusual, tailor-made trips around the desert and nearby region, away from the usual routes. This lovely Riad, right at the edge of the desert, gives you a taste of traditional Moroccan life and makes guests feel at home. They can prepare delicious home-cooked traditional meals if you ask. It's great value for money, and I highly recommend it.
