Rooms Villa Desa

The hostess was welcoming, and the sea was close by. We also had a large Mega grocery store and a public transport stop nearby. Our room was spacious and had everything we needed: beds, a wardrobe, bedside tables, a safe, a kitchenette with dishes, a shower, a hairdryer, towels, and Wi-Fi. There was a big terrace with a dining area, and the room was cleaned daily. A lovely place for a holiday.

We had Room 1, and it was a stay we'd rather forget. The open kitchen and outdoor table offered no privacy, with people walking right by. Cleaning was poor, and without a shower curtain, water ended up everywhere. Cables for the antenna came out beside and behind the toilet, and both the electrical and plumbing systems were awful. The closet looked improvised, with a rusty metal door. The parking area was a mess, and we had to pick up construction nails from the steep road. I can't say what the other rooms are like.

The view of the coast from the upper floors is wonderful, and the rooms are comfortable with their own amenities. There's a terrace that also serves as a kitchen, Wi-Fi, air conditioning that was a big relief after hot days, a boiler, and a TV with Russian channels. There may have been other channels, but we didn't look since we didn't watch TV. The room was cleaned every day. Two markets are nearby, along with a post office that had the biggest selection of postcards and guidebooks we saw around Montenegro. The Montenegro cruised travel agency also has an office close by, and I recommend it. The one downside was the climb back to the villa along the winding streets after a tiring day by the coast. This isn't a 5* hotel, so it won't suit people looking for AI. But if you want a comfortable place to sleep and somewhere to cook now and then, it does the job.

A place to avoid. The furniture was old and smelled bad, and the bathroom fixtures were old and dirty. The towels were worn, there were no blinds or curtains on the windows, and there were no insect screens even though there are a lot of mosquitoes. I couldn't use the air conditioning while in the room because I have a small child. I preferred to leave it running while we were out so it would be cool when we returned, but the owner would come in and switch it off. Coming back from the beach, the room was unbearably hot.
