Lusso Mare Hotel

The panoramic sea view from the restaurant was the only good part of our stay. For a four-star hotel, the rest was extremely poor, and I’d recommend staying elsewhere if you care about comfort and value. We booked for two friends, but got one double bed and one blanket. The hotel refused to move us, saying it was full, though it didn’t look full. The room was dusty when we arrived. The bathroom faucets and mirrors weren’t cleaned during our stay, and the sheets were changed only on day five, after we complained. Toiletries were provided for one person and never replenished during the week. Towels and sheets were worn thin and full of holes. The TV remote was broken. Late one night we had to go down to reception ourselves to ask for another blanket, and were given a thin sheet instead. Staff seemed largely incompetent and indifferent. When we raised problems, they just said sorry without fixing anything. On arrival they also tried to charge us €15 for a dinner already included in our package. Breakfast and dinner were exactly the same every day, and tables were left dirty when new guests sat down. On Sunday after 10 pm, renovation work inside the hotel made it impossible to sleep. They were tiling the elevator floor overnight; the elevator was out of service the next morning while the adhesive dried, so we had to walk to the sixth floor. It’s outrageous to carry out noisy construction while guests are trying to rest. The balcony railing in our room was loose and wobbling, a serious safety hazard on a higher floor, but the hotel seemed unconcerned. This definitely didn’t feel like a four-star stay.
