Getting to places was easy: supermarkets were nearby, Old Town took 10-15 minutes on foot, and Becice beach was about half an hour through the tunnel. I walked to Jaz beach and Sveti Stefan too, both roughly two hours each way, and used the nearby bus station for a day trip to Kotor. The rooms were very clean, with fresh towels daily. I hadn’t asked for that, but there were no do not disturb signs. The hotel itself could use a thorough wash and a coat of white paint. I thought the food was mostly disappointing. Breakfast had plenty of cold meats, cheese, and vegetables, plus sausages, scrambled eggs, polenta, and porridge. It was the same each day, though not a bad breakfast. I wasn’t expecting a full English. Dinner offered variety, but a lot of it lacked texture. The pasta was often limp and cold, though the spaghetti bolognese was nice one night. Breaded chicken was good. Fries were a welcome change on the evenings they served them, but a school group seemed to be staying that week and the kids descended on them. There were kids around most of the week. They were fine, but meals got noisy. The kids club also played music loudly in the evenings, though it wrapped up around 10. On the weekend, music from the seafront nightclub next door went late enough that I could hear it through earplugs. I considered using the gym, but from outside it looked like it was being maintained. I didn’t try most of the other facilities, such as the massage service.

Food was the weak point. There was usually something I could eat, but it was lukewarm at best. The superior room worked well for our 10 days, with a pleasant lounge, two bathrooms, and a small balcony. Staff could be grumpy, but they were cooperative and got things done without needing to be asked twice. Budva is a great base here. The path to Old Town was nice, bus stops were right outside for Sveti Stefan, and the bus station was a 10-minute walk away. There were plenty of shops nearby too.

We’ve just come back from a 10-day holiday with Alexander and had a wonderful stay. Room 2531 was lovely, cleaned daily, and housekeeping changed the towels each day. A very kind man helped us with our cases when we arrived. The pool areas were clean, with plenty of loungers and umbrellas. The pool staff weren’t as helpful, though perhaps there was a language barrier. One receptionist really stood out. She was blonde and on duty when we arrived on 15 September. Sorry we didn’t get her name, but we waited for her shift whenever we needed help because she was the only one who seemed willing. I hope she gets some recognition. Branislav Kuzunovic at the bar was a highlight of our days, from afternoon tea through the evening. The dining staff were excellent too, especially Vujkovic Kristen’s Reshmi and Ravi, who were always smiling and friendly. The chefs even came out to check that everything was as it should be. Thank you all. We hope to return to Montenegro soon.

We’ll come back to Montenegro, but not to this hotel. We were there this past weekend during a large sports event. The number of guests wasn’t a problem, but there weren’t enough staff to cover the services. We had all-inclusive, yet couldn’t get a drink at the bar because the bar team had to help in the restaurant. I expected to be able to get a drink at any time. The cocktails came from a button press and tasted artificial, and there was no sugar-free mixer. The local beer was good, even if the staff struggled to pour a pint. It was odd that drinks weren’t offered with meals either. To get one, we had to cross the walkway to the bar and then return to the restaurant. Our room was nice and clean, and the location was good.

The room hygiene needs work. Towels were changed, but shampoo and bath products weren’t replenished daily, the bathroom wasn’t cleaned, and the bin wasn’t emptied once during our seven days. The pool was large and clean, with enough sunbeds and umbrellas. Reception and restaurant staff were friendly and accommodating, and the food was varied and nicely prepared. The hotel’s location is excellent.
