Butua Residence

The location is the only thing this place has going for it, and it isn't worth the trouble. The receptionist was rude and unhelpful, and kept making fun of us for booking the “cheapest room.” We had to wait for hours before we could get in, until midnight. The attic room was tiny and stifling, with no windows and ceilings too low to stand up under. The next morning, they were already eager to kick us out. The whole stay was a nightmare. If minus stars were possible, I'd give them. Stay away.

The good parts were the cold air conditioner, excellent location, and lovely view from the room. The downsides: there was no breakfast, and parking cost extra in the hotel's private garage. The internet was slow and kept disconnecting. We reported the broken shower head to reception, but it was never fixed. Getting another key also required an extra fee.

The location was nice, but I wouldn't return or recommend the place. They didn't deliver on what we'd been promised for the price, and wanted extra payment for things their website said were included, such as parking, breakfast, and a balcony. When we needed things that weren't in the room, nobody took care of it. We had to go get them ourselves from reception.

The location near the old town was good, but the room view wasn't. The rooms were small and far too expensive for what they offered. They call this a four-star hotel, but it didn't feel like even one star. Slippers were supposedly provided, but that wasn't true, and there was no coffee or tea in the kitchen despite what we'd been told. Parking was advertised as free, then they asked us for more than $15 and directed us into a very cramped garage where scratches seemed likely. If we needed anything from the car, we had to ask them to open the garage. In the bathroom there was nowhere to put towels, and the damaged shower head sprayed water all over the room. The door also squeaked when opened or shut. Service was poor. We had a lot of luggage and nobody helped, so we carried it up the stairs ourselves.
