Hotel Odissey Jaz

We appreciated the straightforward, honest service and the especially kind employees. The bar manager who was there during our stay was particularly lovely. The location suited us well, at a crossroads with easy access to the beaches, Budva, and Kotor. Even though it’s near a main road, the room was surprisingly quiet. The air conditioning and mini-fridge worked properly, which matters in Budva’s unbearable summer heat. There’s ample parking below the hotel and a market within walking distance. The rooms are quite old, the carpets were stained, and there was no cleaning service. Given the competitive prices in the area, we didn’t think that was a major issue. The à la carte breakfast was more than decent, though it could improve: the eggs were overcooked, the sausages were average, and the spread wasn’t particularly good. We appreciated our stay and want to thank Draža, one of the kindest people we met in Montenegro.

The hotel met our expectations, and it’s easy to get around from here, so I’d recommend it. All the employees were caring and friendly. I’d also like to thank Mr. Draža for being so polite and helpful.

We were close enough to the beach, but getting there meant crossing a busy road with no zebra crossing, and cars were going fast, so it felt a little dangerous. Inside, the dirt was hard to miss: our room carpet was badly stained, and one towel was very dirty, as if it hadn’t been checked or replaced after the previous guests. We also never saw anyone vacuum during our three days there, and the restaurant carpet looked dirty too. There was no daily room cleaning, towel replacement, or emptying of the bins. The staff were very friendly, and breakfast was ok.

The receptionist was kind and cooperative, and we were at least able to get our money back, but booking here cost us a lot of time. Neither room was clean. The first had hair on the sheets, plus hair and nails in the bathroom sink. In the second, there was more hair on the sheets and dried mucus in the sink. I’m not sharing the photos because I don’t want to spoil anyone else’s day.
