Guest House Dena

After a 1,600 km drive, finding Villa Denna was an exhausting first surprise. There were no signs, and after a few days we spotted one that looked like graffiti on a wall, easy to miss. Even if you speak English, that doesn’t guarantee anyone will understand you, so finding the villa felt like luck. The reception girl took our passports and asked us to pay in full before we could see the rooms. When we arrived, a young woman offered to help with our bags, but the staff member meant to do that wasn’t there. Two girls helped, though we carried most of our huge luggage ourselves up to the fourth floor. Our family was placed on the top floor under the roof, in a room very different from the booking.com pictures. There was no kitchen in our room. The shower was basically a hole in the floor in a catastrophically tiny bathroom, with a low ceiling that made it impossible to stand comfortably. Water went all over the bathroom, the water pressure was very weak, and the toilet smelled so awful that the room had the same stench. The water was very dirty, and I wouldn’t drink it if you want to stay healthy. The TV didn’t work and seemed to be just for show. One air conditioner remote was shared between two rooms. The balcony was tiny, with children’s chairs and a table that an adult could hardly sit at. The Wi-Fi was very weak, and the villa had no separate network. You have to connect to the one from Royal Azur, where the kitchen and pool are on another street. It was impossible to browse in the room, and we had to go outside to the terrace for a decent connection. The stairs were dangerous for children, and I fell and got hurt. The walls are very thin, so it was hard to sleep with neighbors playing music and children crying. During our stay, all of us came down with a stomach virus, high temperatures, and other awful symptoms, so we decided to leave early. A woman at reception said almost half the hotel had the same illness. We asked for the money back for the three nights we wouldn’t use, but they refused. On our last holiday day in Montenegro, the power, internet, and water all disappeared. We also heard other foreign tourists react to the conditions; they made a scene and then refused to stay. This is a family-style hotel, but that didn’t make our stay any better. If you want to pay for nothing, get stressed, slowly wear down your nerves, lose time, and miss your one chance a year to rest, I recommend Villa Denna.
