The house is in a quiet, remote village spot, but our family’s stay wasn’t satisfactory. Halfway through the holiday we were left without technical water for 24 hours, with no warning, and the pool couldn’t be used until the final day. We were also told off for improper pool use, apparently observed on video cameras, although nobody had pointed out any notice about surveillance. Our privacy felt completely violated.

Villa Aberdeen was good overall: clean rooms and pool, a good grill, and an owner who was willing to help with any problems. The main downside is that you need a car to get anywhere.

The villa is lovely and spacious, very clean, and well equipped. There are lots of places to sit and spend time throughout the day, surrounded by beautiful nature and birdsong. I can’t remember the last time I slept so well. The beds were comfortable, the kitchen was great, and there are two parking spaces. Looking forward to going again.

At the start, things were great, but the holiday ended in disappointment after a lot of back and forth. We were four adults and four children, and the water was off for 18 hours during a three-day outage. Once it came back, the pool pump stopped and the water level fell, so we couldn’t use it. The pool was only fixed on the last day, and we barely got to enjoy it. When we raised the problems, we were told jumping in the pool wasn’t allowed. We then noticed cameras, with no notice anywhere that video surveillance was in use. It felt like an invasion of privacy, and uncomfortable knowing someone might be watching while we swam. The air conditioners were old and noisy, not every room had one, and there were no mosquito nets.
