We weren't staying at the hotel, but when our car broke down in front of Villa Serventi in Kotor today, the owner stepped in and helped us get it repaired and safely moved off the road. It was a really difficult day, and his kindness and hospitality meant a lot. People like that are rare, and a business that treats others this way deserves recognition. We're sincerely grateful and recommend the place very highly. More than 5 stars.

The ferry terminal was close, and it was handy for reaching a larger shop, a bakery, and a nice restaurant. Foot passengers ride free, and although the ferries run around the clock, they didn't disturb us with the window shut. We enjoyed our stay at Villa Serventi by Kotor Bay. Our host met us, helped with parking, shared plenty of local advice, and welcomed us with lemonade, which was much appreciated. We stayed three nights in the villa's cheapest room, the studio. It was clean, spacious enough, had what we needed for cooking, and a good bathroom with a shower. The towels were changed midweek. With just one window facing the road, the room wasn't very bright. The road is small and not too busy, and it gets quiet late, but we kept the window closed to block the noise and sleep. That comment applies to this room, as the others are farther away or higher up. Parking was easy, and the wifi and air conditioning worked well. We found it good value for the area.

We haven't had a better window view so far. The water is right there, the price is reasonable, and the sound of the waves is hard to put a value on.
