Hotel Rivijera

The room got so hot that I couldn’t sleep during my two-night stay. The AC didn’t work and only left the room boiling. The food was okay, and there were smiling faces around, but the staff weren’t really helpful. I got the same lousy explanation over and over. It had some good points, but none of them mattered when the heat made sleeping impossible. It was cheap, and now I know why.

The location is beautiful and close to Lucica, and the price was pretty good. The staff were very kind, breakfast had plenty of choices, and dinner was okay too, with soft music in the evening. We had a lovely stay, which is why we gave it five stars. They could pay a bit more attention to cleanliness and could use more staff.

I gave it two stars because it’s near the beach and the staff were helpful and respectful. The hotel looked nice when I walked in, but the room and the rest of the place were horrible. The safe didn’t work, the beds were misshapen, most outlets were dead, and the bathroom was dirty, especially the bathtub. There was even mould inside the dessert I got at lunch. It was obvious the place hadn’t been cared for in a long time, and that ruined everything. Maybe it would suit people looking for a cheap stay.

We spent 10 days here in July and had a great time. Our accommodation was a beautiful five-star Junior suit in Crystal Rivijera, the newest part right on the beach, with the best sea view in Petrovac. The receptionists on both sides were extremely helpful. Breakfast was an okay continental spread, though the restaurant could present it a little better. The hospitality from the general manager, possibly the owner, a beautiful lady, and the maintenance women, especially Ms Danijela, was extraordinary. It’s a very busy, family-friendly hotel with a swimming pool. Kids ran around the dining area, but I think that was on the parents, who let small children serve themselves food and drinks and make a mess. I’d read the bad reviews and almost cancelled, but I’m glad I gave them a chance. They have new management and young staff, and I’m sure they’ll soon be among the best in Petrovac. I wish them good luck.
