Hotel Exclusive

The receptionists were friendly and helpful, but the rest of the service was a letdown. Room cleaning happened at 10 a.m. one day and 3 p.m. the next, and basic supplies like soap, toilet paper, and shower gel were barely replenished. We had to ask reception for toilet paper several times. At breakfast, staff stood by dirty tables instead of clearing them, and food took a long time to be refilled. Outside reception, staff spoke little or no English. The room was hard to sleep in. We could hear the elevator and people in the hallway all night, and the noisy air conditioner made odd sounds. On top of that, the boiler has to be switched on near the lights, and there wasn’t enough hot water for two showers, so we sometimes ended up with cold water. There was trash and plastic scattered around the parking area. Inside, the hotel smelled nice, but some door frames were stained from painting and parts of the flooring were missing. I wouldn’t expect that from a four-star hotel.

The rooms have a stylish, luxurious look, and the hotel’s location and view are great. The owner and staff were friendly and very helpful. Breakfast didn’t offer much variety, but for the price it was fine. Good value for money, and I’d definitely recommend it.

We spent nine nights here, and the bed linen wasn’t changed once. The room was only supposed to be cleaned during the cleaner’s 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. shift, but reception couldn’t say when that would happen. Even with “Do Not Disturb” on, staff came in, and once a cleaner opened the door with her card just three minutes after seeing me enter. Toilet paper and soap also ran out, so we had to request refills. We were woken at 7 a.m. to move our car, which turned out not to be ours. The noise was constant. The beds were hard and uncomfortable, the road outside was busy, and we could hear reception and cleaning staff banging a bucket at 7 a.m. A thin connecting door let us hear everything from the neighboring room. Early checkouts woke us around 5:30 a.m., and another night a neighbor came back late and started cooking or something. We barely slept. The rooms aren’t soundproof, and the receptionist was indifferent, complained about being short-staffed, stayed on the phone when I asked for advice, and ignored requests for help or directions. Breakfast was the same every day, and we were tired of it after three days. The restaurant only opens from 8 to 10 a.m.; it was often hard to find a seat, and when food ran out, refills took around 20 minutes. No other meals are served, which wasn’t made clear when we booked. You also have to pay a cash deposit for the minibar as soon as you arrive. This was the worst hotel experience I’ve had. I’d rate it one or two stars, not four.

Really nice hotel, with an incredible view and very friendly staff. Breakfast was delicious too.
