Apartments Cungu

The river views from the back of the apartment were lovely, and the smell people mention outside isn't sewage. The river is tidal, so now and then you can smell seaweed and salt. The family running the place were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was well cooked with local ingredients, and the apartment was clean and comfortable. It had been renovated this year, so there were a few small issues with the internet and satellite TV, but those should be sorted soon. Thanks for a great week!

After an eight-hour drive with three children, we arrived to find that the owner, Smail, wasn't there. The cook had to tell us there was no room for us that night and that we'd have to sleep at the owner's uncle's house. We had booked a year ahead, paid a deposit, and been sent pictures and a video, along with advice to book directly because it would be cheaper. The photos looked nothing like the place and seemed photoshopped. The owner called the boss, who never came to see us and just kept repeating that we'd be staying at his uncle's. He wouldn't return our money. It was the most disgusting experience we've had, and we felt the booking information and pictures were a complete fraud. Don't ever come here.

We arranged an apartment by email in August 2021, and the owner confirmed it. A few days before the trip, we called to check, only to be told our room was no longer available because other guests had “stayed longer.” It felt like they were preferred because they paid more. Our summer vacation was completely ruined. Terrible, unprofessional owner. Avoid this place.

I stayed here with my family last year and still miss it. The rooms were good, and the food was delicious. Such an amazing hotel.
