The room was filthy, with dust and lots of bits on the bed and towels. It needs a thorough clean, perhaps even fumigation, and in my view it fails EU hygiene standards. On the plus side, the top-floor apartment was nice and modern. The location was good, a short walk from the promenade, with restaurants and bars nearby. The hosts spoke good English.

Breakfast was good and included with our rooms, and the prices were reasonable. I think we were among the last guests of the season, and the owner went out of his way to make us happy. He was very solicitous and even arranged for his son to drive us to our next town, Kotor.

The pasta with vegetables was okay, but the rest was poor. The risotto was more like rice porridge with lots of butter, nowhere near al dente and apparently not made with a suitable rice variety. Cevapi came with french fries, like a Burger King meal. Plaskavica also came with fries, and was heavily overgrilled. Couldn't the potatoes have been boiled or baked? The quality was like a motel cafe in a remote part of the Russian hinterland at best. Ordinary chain cafes in Moscow cook much better, almost making them seem like high cuisine. The chef needs to learn the trade, maybe in Italy. Growing up with plascavices doesn't by itself make someone a chef.
