Villa Dulcinea

We loved the Old town, which felt less touristy than Budva or Kotor, and falling asleep to the waves with a breeze coming through was lovely. The Deluxe Apartment for 3 persons had a sea view and balcony, and the location was ideal, a short walk from a small beach with shops, groceries, restaurants, and bars close by. The room was clean, fully functional, and had what we needed, though it showed some wear. Staff were always smiling, helpful, and attentive. Breakfast was made to order, simple but tasty, with a small bread and spreads buffet. The view was stunning. 10/10 experience.

We came for a second honeymoon and really enjoyed the stay. The rooms are new and comfortable, some with sea views, and the staff are very friendly. The family first ran the restaurant of the same name, rated 5 stars wherever you look, before also starting to accommodate travellers. The location is inside the walls of Ulcinj castle, just about as good as it gets, and I’d recommend it to anyone wanting to experience Ulcinj. If you’re driving, try to arrive before 8pm. The city closes access to that area from 8pm to 0130am, so after that you can’t get there by car and parking becomes a pain.

Every day at Villa Dulcinea felt like waking up in a postcard, with lovely sunsets, the Old Town, the sea, and city below all in view. The villa was spotless and so well kept. The owners were warm, welcoming, and always willing to help. They made us feel at home, and their kindness made the week unforgettable. For comfort, cleanliness, and views that stay with you, I can’t recommend the place enough. I can’t wait to come back.

The rooms were quiet, with a lovely sea view and a breeze coming through the windows. Everyone was kind and helpful, and they speak several languages, English/serbski/deustch/shiqp, and were happy to chat. The villa’s associated restaurant is worth a visit too, with great food at any time of day. Just pack carefully, since it can be a long walk uphill from the parking lot to the hotel in stari grad. I’m looking forward to coming back and enjoying that sea breeze in stari grad again.
