The view from our first-floor room balcony was incredible, and the owners were super friendly. We stayed two lovely nights at Villa Marinero and really enjoyed the breakfast we ordered on our last morning, 7.50 EUR pp. Amazing place!

The owner rudely made me leave the area in front of the hotel when I came to wait for my friend who was staying there. It was a public street, not private property, with no fence or barrier, and the street led to a restaurant. The streets around there are quite narrow. Update: 1. The owner says I “ran away” after he mentioned calling the police. That’s false. I agreed that the police could be called because I believed my freedom of movement and personal boundaries had been violated. I only moved about 5 meters aside because he started shouting, and I wanted to keep the argument from escalating. 2. He describes the terrace outside the hotel as “private property,” but it is a public street with no fencing or restrictions. There was a sign on the wall pointing to the restaurant “Terra Promesaa,” and nowhere did it say that only hotel guests could visit the restaurant. 3. The owner called me a thief and a liar, which I feel confirms his aggressive behavior. I didn’t know my acquaintance’s real name, only the nickname from a gay dating app. We had agreed to meet OUTSIDE the hotel for safety reasons. Montenegro is homophobic, so revealing someone’s real name can be unsafe. I did give the owner my own name. I find it unacceptable for the hotel owner to interfere in guests’ or visitors’ private lives. I strongly recommend avoiding this hotel, especially for LGBTQ+ people. 4. Google’s review policy allows people who aren’t guests to post reviews, unlike Booking or Airbnb, so incidents like this can be brought to public attention.
Fera was one of the best hostesses I’ve met. She was so accommodating and easy to talk to, and made all of us feel comfortable, almost like we were at my aunt’s home. We had an amazing studio room for 5 people, and the breakfast Fera offers in the morning gave that same feeling of being at home. There’s nowhere in Ulcinj I’d recommend more than Fera’s Villa Marinero. I’ll 100% be back to stay here.
Salem and his family are wonderfully welcoming and do all they can to make your stay a good one. The villa is right in the old town, with marvelous sea views. 'Mum' makes lovely breakfast and dinner if you want it. There’s no road access, so I wouldn’t recommend staying here if you have mobility issues. Apart from that, fantastic!
I booked a stay here, but my luggage was lost after I arrived in Sarajevo, with my stay due to begin four days later. I politely asked the property to cancel and refund me. To my surprise, after reading the previous reviews, they coldly said no. I don’t recommend booking here because of the owner’s greed. If this isn’t resolved, I have nothing more to say except that I’ll spread this on social media!
