Hotel SOA

We only came to use the sauna after someone recommended it, and didn’t stay at the hotel. There was no relaxation room, restroom, or changing room, just a small bench in the corridor. The hammam had a noticeable moldy smell. The sauna was around 50°C, and we had booked two hours for two adults and two children without anyone at reception raising a concern. But with nowhere proper to sit or rest, it wasn’t clear how we were supposed to spend two hours there. We managed about 30 minutes. There was some hesitation at reception, but eventually we were charged for just one hour, which I appreciated. Even so, €60 for one hour of such an unpleasant experience felt expensive. I left disappointed and somewhat misled. Next time I’ll check whether basic facilities are available before booking. The hotel could consider turning the underused hammam area into a simple relaxation room with a table, where people could sit and have tea between sauna sessions.

We ate at the restaurant three times, and every dinner was delicious. The staff there were very helpful and courteous, and breakfast was plentiful. Our one-bedroom apartment at Hotel Soa was spacious, clean, and serviced daily. Everyone was friendly and helpful from check-in through check-out. The location is handy for everything, with town a short walk away and the entrance to Black Lake right next door.

The hotel’s location near Black Lake is amazing, and the restaurant is very good. The rooms are nice and well maintained. The staff are so welcoming that you feel at home. I’d definitely recommend staying here.

We planned to stay a few days, but checked out after just one night. The pool water wasn’t hot, and we weren’t allowed to open a can we’d brought into the lobby. The whole lobby belongs to the restaurant, so there’s nowhere to sit unless you buy something from the bar.
