Hotel L'Esplanade

Our room, #24, was spectacular, with a great view, and the complimentary breakfast was lovely. They even had plenty of gluten-free pastries and bread for me. Annabelle was wonderful and helped us through most of our stay. You can easily walk to all the great restaurants in Grand Case, and we enjoyed drinks by the pool. We also went to petite plage for the quickest route to the beach. On a recommendation, we did scoobi to anguilla one day and loved it. Best hotel I've ever been to. I'd absolutely come back.

Being able to walk to dinner every evening was one of our favorite things about the location. We also loved having breakfast brought to our room in a basket and tray, so we could eat on the balcony. Jessica greeted us warmly when we arrived, and that welcome set the tone. Our room was beautiful, and the daily cleaning was excellent. It was our first trip to SXM, and Hotel L'Esplanade made it a perfect stay. Nothing but praise for this hotel.

We usually avoid resorts and choose a small hotel or Airbnb for a more local feel, but this trip we wanted to decompress instead of having our usual adventure, so we looked for full service with a pool and beach access. L'Esplanade was a lucky find. It's close to Grand Case for food and beach time, yet tucked into the hill for peace and views. With just 24 rooms, it doesn't feel like a sterile resort. The cozy pool is great for reading or floating, and there's a swim-up or sit-down bar with tasty lunch options. Try the trigger fish. The bar staff were friendly. Yoga and giGong were excellent, with several classes available. Ti Temple has free yoga and supplies mats and props. Our instructor, Dinah, is a real pro with decades of experience, and the shaded outdoor temple is lovely. I also had an 80-minute massage at Ti Spa with Eleen, who was fantastic. The spa is immaculate and smells heavenly. We visited sister property Le Petit Hotel one day and took out a SUP. There's no real beach service there, but free chairs, SUPs, and kayaks. Our Deluxe Loft was lovely and very clean, with a good bed, hot shower, full kitchen, excellent housekeeping, and a great view. Couldn't have asked for a better hotel. Highly recommend.

Breakfast is ready for pickup in the central area at 8 AM. At check-in, you choose French pastries, and they'll repeat your order daily unless you change it. Pro tip: get the ham and cheese quiche. Having breakfast taken care of removes a bit of stress I didn't realize I was carrying at other places. The rooms have full kitchens and private balconies overlooking the ocean, and the high-speed Wi-Fi worked fine even from the pool. The ocean and Grand Case restaurants are a five-minute walk away, while the pool and bar/grill on site are an easy option. I've just returned from my third stay at L'Esplanade, and the vibe is hard to beat. The staff are pleasant and go out of their way to make you feel like a guest, not just a customer. Everything feels easy and perfect. I'll be back to St Martin, and I can't imagine staying anywhere else.
